Answer: A joke shop

Wilbur Turnblad, (played by Christopher Walken), is the proud owner of a joke shop called the Hardy-Har-Hut, which is located below the Turnblad's apartment. He is a kind and easy-going person, who is refreshingly naïve, and so when Velma Von Tussle, (played by Michelle Pfeiffer), tries to seduce him, he does not respond in the way she expects him to. Indeed despite Velma's outrageous flirting, Wilbur is oblivious to it. In fact in the end, Velma is forced to literally throw herself at him, which she does, just in time for Wilbur's wife, Edna, to walk in on them. Needless to say, despite doing nothing wrong, poor Wilbur ends up having a lot of explaining to do.

Answer: Vitamin C

Amber was Colleen Fitzpatrick's first acting role, but she is probably better known for her singing career under the name of Vitamin C. She has released two albums "Vitamin C" in 1999 and "More" in 2001 as well as six singles, which included "Me, Myself and I" and "Smile". She also played herself in the 2001 movie "Get Over It".

Colleen appeared in the first series of "The Amanda Show", which starred Amanda Bynes, who plays Penny Pingleton in the 2007 movie.

Answer: Mr. Pinky's Hefty Hide-away

Mr. Pinky calls the Turnblads to tell them this. Then Tracy and Edna go down there to negotiate the contract. When they go down there, they sing the song "Welcome to the 60s".

Answer: Mike

She calls and uses the fake name Mike but when Edna asks "Mike who?" Amber accidentally speaks in her normal voice, before catching herself and using the disguised voice again. She calls because she sees Link leave with Tracy, and she wants revenge.

Answer: So Hip!

These are the lines said:
Penny: Being invited places by coloured people!
Tracy: It feels so hip!
'Run And Tell That' is sung by Seaweed (Elijah Kelley) and Little Inez (Taylor Parks). It is about their life being Negros. The song is sung approximately halfway through the movie when Link purposefully gets a detention to be with Tracy.

Answer: Edna, her mother

Tracy tells Edna that she should be her agent, but her mother is doubtful at first. Edna first suggests that Wilbur should be her agent, but she eventually gives in.

Answer: Tracy's hair was too high.

She sprayed it with hairspray so she could look like the people on her favorite show, "The Corny Collins Show". Her teacher sent her to detention for her hair being over the allowed limit in school.

Answer: "Motormouth" Maybelle Stubbs

"Motormouth" Maybelle Stubbs is the mother of Seaweed and Inez. She also sings the song "Big, Blonde, and Beautiful", which is sung by Mrs. Von Tussle and Mrs. Turnblad later.

Answer: I Can Hear the Bells

From the very beginning of the film, it is made clear that Tracy has a crush on Link, who is the lead male dancer on "The Corny Collins Show". Therefore when she bumps into him in school, it sparks one the most memorable songs in the film, "I Can Hear the Bells". Turning to her imagination, Tracy fantasises about not just being in a relationship with Link, but also marrying him. At this point he is still attached to Amber Von Tussle, but it isn't long before Link begins to see Amber for who she really is - a mean, spiteful and bigoted person.

Answer: Hardy Har Hut

Once Tracy becomes famous, the joke shop sells many Tracy related novelty items. The joke shop also features during the reprise of "Big Blonde and Beautiful", where Velma tries to seduce Wilbur. After Edna catches the two of them together, Wilbur ends up sleeping in the shop with a bed made out of whoopee cushions.

Answer: laryngitis

Link says this while he is in Tracy's room. He is singing about his life without love as are all the other characters. He is at Tracy's house because he realizes that he should have been there with her when they marched.

Answer: Devil Child

She says this and tosses Holy water at Penny. Penny's Mom is a really strict Catholic. She thinks Penny is a Devil Child because of the things she does and the music she likes etc. She also thinks that Tracy is a bad influence on Penny and that "The Corny Collins Show" is bad because it promotes race music.

I really wanted to include a couple of my favourite lines in the movie. They both refer to Penny's mother.
Penny: "Oh Seaweed, you do care! I thought the colors of our skin might keep us apart."
Seaweed: "No... but these knots might. Was your mom in the Navy?"

Motormouth Maybelle: "Well, love is a gift, a lot of people don't remember that. So you two better brace yourselves for a whole lotta ugly comin' at you from a never ending parade of stupid."
Penny: "So you've met my Mom?"

Answer: Integration Not Segregation

During the song, 'I Know Where I've Been', Tracy is holding a sign. The word "Integration" is only shown on limited occasions, but the words "Not" and "Segregation" are clearly visible. The song, 'I Know Where I've Been' is performed by Motormouth Maybelle(Queen Latifah), Tracy and an ensemble. The song is about protesting about them protesting about people on television being mixed.

Answer: Brenda

When Corny is interviewing and asks her how long she will be gone, she answers, "Just nine months." This information suggests that Brenda has gotten pregnant, and is humorous to those who understand the insinuation.

Answer: a rope

A rope was in between them, and Tracy was going to try to dance with them but then she ended up doing Seaweed's dance/moves. They did not take the rope down after that, but Tracy did get noticed by Corny Collins. She then got accepted into "The Corny Collins Show".

Answer: Edna Turnblad

Edna Turnblad leaves the house for the first time in many years, during the song "Welcome to the 60s". She is also a laundress and becomes Tracy's agent. Edna Turnblad has a hard time letting Tracy try out to be on "The Corny Collins Show", because she does not want Tracy to get her feelings hurt.

Answer: Amber

Prior to Tracy joining "The Corny Collins Show", it is spoiled teenager, Amanda Von Tussle, who is the star of the show. Helped by her mother, Velma, who just happens to be the manager of WYZT, the television station that airs "The Corny Collins Show", Amber seems destined for stardom, at least until Tracy Turnblad turns up. Like her mother before her, Amber too is racist and weightist, but by the end of the film she and Velma do finally get their comeuppance, and both are eventually brought down to earth with a bang.

Answer: "Come So Far (Got So Far To Go)", "Mama I'm A Big Girl Now", "Cooties"

"Cooties" is a song written for the character of Amber, however on the end credits it is sung by pop singer Aimee Allen, not Brittany Snow who plays Amber.

"Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now" was written for the characters of Tracy, Penny and Amber but was cut from the film as neither Adam Shankman nor Leslie Dixon could work out how to film it in a way that did not require a three way split screen. However it does appear as an instrumental in the film. The version of the song on the credits and on the CD soundtrack is sung by Nikki Blonsky, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ricki Lake - all three of whom have played Tracy Turnblad; Nikki in the 2007 movie, Marissa was the original Broadway Tracy and Ricki Lake played the role in the original movie.

Answer: The Police carry her in without even knowing it.

They carry her in by busting open the doors with the big hairspray can. The Police are there because, Velma doesn't want Tracy to get into the pageant and they are looking for her.

Answer: In Penny's bedroom

He is in Penny's bedroom, trying to rescue her. Her mom has tied her up in her bedroom so he tries to untie her.
Seaweed and Penny are in love. How cute!
Motormouth Maybelle, Seaweed's Mom, approves of their relationship, but Penny's Mom, Prudy, doesn't.
Seaweed is played by Elijah Kelly, Penny is played by Amanda Bynes and
Motormouth Maybelle is played by Queen Latifah.

Answer: Noreen and Doreen

We hear their names in the opening of 'The Corny Collins Show.' Noreen is played by Tiffany Engen and Doreen is played by Brooke Engen. They are members of the council on 'The Corny Collins Show' and are twins. They have black hair and come across as ditsy and girly.

Answer: Bang

The word Bang came out and she got mad and kept trying harder and harder, but he never cracked. He didn't react that much, but she got even more mad that he wouldn't give in to her.

Answer: Amber

Link breaks up with Amber to be with Tracy. Link and Tracy kiss at the end of the movie. They also sing to each other in "Without Love". Amber's mother is Velma von Tussel and is the station manager for "The Corny Collins Show", which Amber performs on.

Answer: Miss Teenage Hairspray

Seaweed's sister, and Motormouth Maybelle's daughter, Little Inez, is the one who wins the coveted Miss Teenage Hairspray title at the end of the film. For after Tracy succeeds in making her way to the stage, (despite being banned from it by Velma), the show is taken over by a variety of people, who would otherwise have been kept away by Amber's obnoxious mother. At one point, even Tracy's mother takes the stage, as do the wonderful dancers from the show's "Negro Day". Moreover at the end, Corny announces the fact that the show is officially integrated, putting an end to "Negro Day", once and for all.

Answer: Little Inez

Inez is annouced as the winner at the end of the film. When they annouce her name it is one of the few times she is called Inez and not Little Inez. When she wins, not only does she become the lead dancer on the Corny Collins show, but the show becomes official intergrated. However if Tracy hadn't turned up and got Inez to dance, Amber would have won the competition, as her mother Velma had switched the votes. In the original film Tracy was crowned the winner.

Little Inez is said to be the younger sister of Seaweed and the daughter of Motormouth Maybelle.
